Responsibilities
- -- Design and Development --
- Design and develop drone systems, including hardware, software and integrated components.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Design and implement software programming for use in drone functionality.
- Create prototypes, models and parts as required through 3D printing or other mechanisms.
- Source suppliers and vendors for both design and production capabilities.
- -- Testing and Evaluation --
- Conduct simulations and real-world tests to validate the performance and reliability of drone systems.
- Analyze test data to identify and troubleshoot issues, making necessary modifications to improve functionality.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations throughout the testing process.
- Comply with all applicable requirements, standards and regulations. Comfortable to work within AS9100 certification processes.
- -- Project Management --
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery of drone solutions.
- Prepare detailed project documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, electrical engineers and manufacturing teams.
- -- Research and Development --
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in drone technology and related fields.
- Conduct research to develop methods to enhance drone performance and capabilities.
- Participate in hands on modifications.
- -- Integration and Deployment --
- Integrate drones with various payloads, sensors, and communication systems to meet specific project requirements.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored drone solutions.
- Oversee the deployment and field operations of drone systems, ensuring optimal performance.
Profile
- Education - Minimum bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in drone engineering, unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or a related field.
- Experience with CAD software, drone control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Structured
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Knowledge of aerodynamics, flight dynamics, propulsion systems and sensor integration.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA, STANAG,)
- Remote Pilot Certificate under EASA A1/A2/A3 or equivalent is a plus.
- Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or specialized drone fields are advantageous.
- Ability to work in office, laboratory and field environments.
- Occasionally travel to testing sites, client locations.
- Be able to relocate close to our Facility in Odense.
- Ability to acquire Security Clearance from NATO is mandatory for this job.
